|How to get a set at the National:
Open ANY three 2012 Topps/Bowman MLB Baseball or NFL Football packs at the Topps booth – and you will get 9 card 2012 Gypsy Queen Mini Card Set. You can simply purchase some 2012 Topps Opening Day packs for around $1 each and get a set if you want. Sounds like a good deal and it’s worth doing especially if you were going to get some packs anyway. Just make sure you take them by the Topps booth and open them!!
How to get a set not at the National:
There are going to be quite a few ways for you to get a set of the 2012 Topps Topps Gypsy Queen mini card set even if you don’t attend the 33rd Annual National Sports Collectors Convention in Baltimore. Just look on eBay shortly after Topps starts redeeming these at the National and you should see quite a few for sale. Eventually Check Out My Cards will get a supply of the single cards from the 9 card set and those should end up being very affordable. You might even be able to swing a trade on your favorite forum or trading site.
How rare is the set:
Not that rare. I know of nothing concrete but the number of sets could be well over 1000 – maybe much higher then that. While initial single card sales could be strong – look for the market to cool as more cards hit the market in August.
Other Topps Wrapper Redemptions:
Topps does have one other wrapper redemption going on at the National Convention. Open FULL box of 2012 Bowman Platinum Baseball at the Topps booth – and you get 25 card serial numbered Bowman Platinum Blue Foil set. The set includes cards of Bryce Harper, Yu Darvish and more. Because these will be serial numbered and you have to buy and open a full box look for this set to be far more collectible in terms of value.
Other Topps Exclusive National Cards:
If you purchase a VIP package to attend the National then you get some special vintage reprint Topps cards that features some of the players in minor league uniforms. Checklist includes: Mickey Mantle, Willie Mays, Jackie Robinson and Babe Ruth.
