Values of Stephen Strasburg 2010 Bowman rookie cards soared in value during the summer of '10 when he was the top pitching prospect in all of baseball. Many of the high end parallel cards ended up on the 2010 Most Watched Cards list - including this 2010 Bowman Red Parallel, serial numbered 1/1, which checked in at #5.
It turned out to be a bad dream for buyers of Strasburg cards during this time. When he went down with an arm injury in late August - values of his rookie cards plummeted like the housing market in 2008. This 2010 Bowman Red Parallel is a perfect example, the card sold at the peak of the Strasburg mania in June 2010 for $4,850.

Collectors get a rare treat - because in January 2011, this card was re-listed on eBay. It will be interesting to see just how big a price difference there is between the two auctions.

Blake Griffin's 2009/10 NBA rookie season got off on the wrong foot when he got injured in the pre-season and missed the entire regular season. Prices for his Panini rookie cards slipped below those of Tyreke Evans and Stephen Curry - who both had spectacular rookie seasons. Smart collectors were buying Griffin with the hopes he could come back in 10/11 and produce in a big way.
One of the more plentiful jersey autograph rookie cards of Blake Griffin comes from the 2009/10 Panini Absolute Memorabilia Basketball set - the base RC is serial numbered #/499.  These cards feature a sticker autograph and a jersey/ball combination from the NBA Rookie Premiere Photo Shoot.
Once Blake came back from injury in 10/11 and started to put up ESPN highlight dunks night in and night out, his cards started to get hot on eBay. Here at Sports Card Radio we really like Griffin and we think the price for these cards will continue to rise as he gets more exposure around the league.

The only drawbacks for Griffin is of course another bad injury and the fact that he plays for one of the leagues sad sack franchises in the LA Clippers. We saw the career of former #1 overall pick and SCR favorite Michael Olowokandi go down the tubes in L.A. in part because of poor coaching and management. It remains to be seen if that franchise can ever get it together.

Bryce Harper was the #1 overall pick in the 2010 MLB Draft by the Washington Nationals but the hype surrounding this young phenom has been building for years. Sports Illustrated featured Harper on the cover of their magazine while he was still in High School, something that has rarely happened in the publications history.  Harper has all the skills you'd want, including incredible power for someone his age.

Topps included a Bryce Harper Aflac All-American Team Autograph card, serial numbered /230, in their 2010 Bowman Chrome Draft Picks & Prospects Set. Sales of the card have been hot upon release of the set on December 15th.

While I've heard that Harper has all the talent in the world, I've also heard he is quite a fan of himself, which is not uncommon for star athletes I suppose. Having success in High School and Junior College is a dime a dozen, very few players go on to reach the MLB and become stars. Prices for his Aflac Autograph are actually not all that bad considering collectors of prospects tend to go overboard when a new player hits the market. If Harper is able to go on and have a great career these cards should be worth quite a bit.
