Avatar was the most successful movie in history, grossing $2.7 billion worldwide at the box office. Movie goers were astounded by the 3D technology and stunning detail by renowned director James Cameron. The Topps Company is jumping aboard the Avatar money train and will produce a set of Avatar 3D trading card to be released in October 2010. The shipping of the cards will coincide with the release of Avatar on Blue-Ray.
According to Topps, the Avatar cards feature cutting edge 3-D print technology that won't require glasses to see the beauty of 3D (hmmmmmm....). The extra wide card design, 2 1/2’’ x 4 11/16”, will help bring the scenes from the movie to life. Topps will be the only source for authentic Avatar trading cards, so if you are interested in these I suggest you pre-order a box when they become available. The autograph and sketch cards should be a major hit with collectors.
