2012 Leaf Metal Draft Football is the very first set to release with new 2012 NFL Draft prospects. Players like Robert Griffin III, LaMichael James and Justin Blackmon have autographs in the set. #1 Pick Andrew Luck does not have autographs in the set as he is an exclusive athlete with Press Pass for pre-draft cards and autographs. Leaf was able to slip in some US Army All-American cards of Luck – which were selling very well when this product first went live. New for 2012 Leaf Metal Draft are the U.S. Army autographs that are randomly inserted.
Got to give credit to Leaf for getting this set together – and it appears as though there are no redemption cards and all autographs are live in the product. When this set first came out in March 2012 boxes were selling for around $50-60 on the retail market.
Update: There is a retail version of this product. That has base cards and autographs inserted 1:10 packs. $1.99 per pack SRP. The checklist for the autographs in the retail set is different from the hobby version. Some players have only autographs available in retail, some in both, and some in just hobby.
