New for 2012 Bowman Draft Picks and Prospects Baseball is that it will be a hobby only release. Typically you'll see packs and retail boxes at places like Target and WalMart. No more of that. Will that add some juice to the set and provide extra value? Perhaps, but sets like these are typically driven by the quality of prospect and rookie cards - and not the overall production run.

Topps boasts that as many as 165 players picked in the recent 2012 MLB Draft will have their first cards in the set. Many of them will also have autographs and those should be hot for key players. That is what makes Draft Picks and Prospects stand out from the other Bowman sets - is that Topps will feature recent drafted players and collectors enjoy getting some of their new favorite prospects.
