Keep this in mind with the 2012 Topps Baseball Mini Exclusive set – it initially was only available on the Shop Topps website for $50 a box. While that might irk some dealers, distributors and online card sellers it’s a fact of life the Topps would like to sell some product on their site while cutting out the middle man in distributors and sellers. Cards and boxes should filter onto eBay and other selling sites as well shortly after release date. Like any product, $50 is a gamble with only one guaranteed autograph or relic, but if you are a fan of the mini card thing then it’s a really good value per box.
The base set is simply the entire Series 1 and Series 2 Topps flagship base cards. The Yu Darvish and Bryce Harper rookies should be desirable. The fact that these boxes and packs will not be readily available to a mass amount of sellers could impact the initial pricing of the single cards. The very first Darvish and Harper rookies to appear on eBay will most likely carry a premium over the ones listed after. Pretty normal for most sports card releases for that dynamic to occur.
