College sports has not seen an athlete like Florida QB Tim Tebow in quite a long time. Tebow is as intriguing off the field as he is on. From his well documented missions and faith in God, to his throwback style of playing football, those are just a few things that make Tebow popular worldwide. It’s not only sports fans that are so captivated with Tebow. Women drool at the sight of him, in fact “Tim Tebow Girlfriend” is one of the most popular google searches related to the Florida star.
I am a little surprised it took Sports Illustrated so long to put golden boy Tim Tebow on the cover of their magazine. Since his first cover in December 2008, S.I. jumped on the Tebow bandwagon and rolled out four 2009 covers. Tebow and fellow Gator teammates Percy Harvin and Brandon Spikes did make the SI annual College Football Preview cover on 8/11/2008.
Typically, secondary market sales of SI magazines are hot and cold but Tebow has such a huge following of fans that his covers should be collectible even if he doesn’t have a successful NFL career.

Florida just won its second BCS National Championship game in 3 years by beating the Oklahoma Sooners. The only questioned that was left was if Tebow was coming back to Florida for a Senior season.

Cover Three: 1/21/2009
All Gator fans had to have been ecstatic that Tebow decided to return to Florida for his Senior season. ‘Not Done Yet’ refers to Tebow’s choice to stay at Florida.
If I were Tebow, I would have done the same thing. The chance to be big man on campus for another year is worth more then any NFL contract.

What I would give to have been apart of the Florida Gators during Tebow’s run. It’s not even that I enjoy playing football that much. In fact, I wouldn’t even have to play. Just the opportunity to be Tebow’s wingman during a campus party would be worth all the 3 hour practices.
