2026 Topps Series 1 Baseball dropped February 11. We went to Reddit so you don’t have to. Here’s what collectors are actually saying.
2026 Topps Series 1 — Topps 75th Anniversary
The reception has been mixed — leaning negative. Collectors who got boxes in hand are not holding back.
“I had pretty low expectations for 2026 Series 1, but now that I have the cards in hand, I’m somehow even more disappointed.”
— u/i_run_on_occasion · r/baseballcards
“The Dumpster-fire organization known as Fanatics that now owns Topps cannot be bothered to give even a minuscule f***.”
— u/MojoHighway · r/baseballcards
“They’ve been half-assing products for far too long. My new year’s resolution: buy zero products this year and put all that money into a brokerage account instead.”
— u/saintnyckk · r/baseballcards
Hobby box results are generating frustration. The value conversation is not going Topps’ way.
“Seeing some of the other posts on the drop today, I can’t help but feel like I got shafted. Pfaadt /2026, McCutchen /50, Devers /399. Not a single Anthony, even base.”
— u/Cr0wl3yman · r/baseballcards
“Yikes, retail blasters are probably better than regular hobby boxes from the hobby hits I’ve been seeing.”
— u/Odd_Math_1218 · r/baseballcards
Jacob Wilson — Green Relic 95/99
Brandyn Garcia — RC Auto, Arizona Diamondbacks
“Still no pack odds. Here is n=1 sample: no extra hit, 5 numbered cards. The 3 Topps Gold feels like an anomaly that can’t possibly reflect the print run.”
— u/BioDueDiligence · r/baseballcards
One post blew up: a collector ran the numbers on the base card print run and posted the results.
“2026 Topps Series 1 base card print run: 1,415,000. An 18% increase over 2025 Topps Series 1.”

More supply means more dilution. That math hits different when you’re pulling a base Pfaadt out of a hobby box.
“Once again, as it has been said over the course of the past 5 years: Junk wax 2.0.”
— u/MUSinfonian · r/baseballcards
Maximo Acosta — RC, Miami Marlins
Chad Stevens — RC Sandglitter, Los Angeles Angels
Amid the complaints, there is one angle collectors are genuinely excited about — the buyback program.
“Topps is rolling out 75 different graded buyback cards as redemptions across 2026 Flagship products. The ceiling here is enormous — it’s already been confirmed that a Mickey Mantle is in play.”
— r/baseballcards, Series 1 Analysis & Deep Dive
That’s the chase. Everything else is noise.
