On June 24, 2016, Simmons signed an exclusive multi-year autograph deal with Upper Deck despite Panini America being the exclusive licensed maker of NBA trading cards.
Simmons has no autograph rookie cards available in Panini products.
One rumor making its way around the sports card industry is that the agent for Simmons, Rich Paul, hates Panini America and tries to avoid working with them.
Simmons sat out his entire rookie season because of injury.
Price Prediction
Simmons can’t shoot and therefore will never be a top tier NBA player. For the early part of his career he wasn’t even the best player on his own team.
His card prices have seen an artificial boost because of the Upper Deck exclusive. Once people don’t care about him anymore, the floor is real low for his cards.
Would fit better in the ‘Magic Johnson’ era when guards weren’t expected to shoot like Stephen Curry. His 2016-17 Silver Prizm card prices will never touch $2,000 again.
