Dappz Sports Ghosted on $1,275. Then Launched a Sneaker Company.
Dappz Sports owes a guy $1,275. The invoice was due in August. It’s February now. And the CEO just launched a sneaker company.
Let that sink in.
Here’s what happened: A Dappz employee reached out to a vendor to buy inventory. Total bill: $10,275. Due date: August 27, 2025.
The first couple deals went fine. Then Dappz asked for 30-day payment terms “like they do with all their vendors.” The vendor agreed. Dappz was huge on TikTok at the time—seemed safe.
Then the ghosting started.
Matt McGuckin, Dappz Sports CEO — still owes $1,275
When the invoice came due, the vendor finally got ahold of Matt McGuckin, Dappz’s CEO. Matt acted confused. Said he didn’t know about the purchase. But he admitted the invoices were in their system and said they’d pay.
The next day, Matt handed the vendor off to a guy named Travis. Then Travis started hitting him with corporate speak:
“I’m waiting on the Leadership Team.”
“I have a call with the COO.”
“I’ve been asked to hold payments.”
“I haven’t been approved to make that payment yet.”
This is a company that was breaking cards on TikTok every day. And they need “approval” to send a wire?
Then Andrew Schaberg (Drew) tagged in. Drew calls himself an entrepreneur. His best line? “Hey – I have a plan.”
You need a plan to send $10,275?
They eventually paid most of it. The vendor is still owed $1,275. And now? Complete radio silence.
“Around this time, Matt was flexing a Star Wars card that he bought for $16K and sold for $100K.”
— Vendor statement, via Facebook
Let that sink in. The CEO is posting about flipping a $100,000 card while his company owes a vendor four figures and won’t return calls.
Turns out the vendor isn’t the only one getting screwed. Dappz is facing a lawsuit from employees for discrimination. The case settled in December 2025.
So we’ve got:
- Vendors getting ghosted on $1,275
- Employees suing
- A CEO flexing six-figure card flips while not paying bills
And Dappz’s next move? Launching Dappz Kicks in the sneaker space.
If you’re in the sneaker community and Dappz Kicks reaches out—good luck getting paid.
Pay your vendors. Don’t flex $100K card flips when you owe people money. And definitely don’t need a “plan” to send a wire transfer.
It’s not that complicated.
