Kevin O’Leary Is a Hobby Influencer Now
Mr. Wonderful is in the hobby now. Whether the hobby wanted him is a separate question.
In August 2025, Kevin O’Leary co-purchased the Jordan-Kobe dual Logoman for $12.93 million — the most expensive sports card ever sold at auction. Then he had Tiffany & Co. encase it in 101 carats of diamonds, 10 carats of rubies, and 2.2 pounds of white gold.
Then he wore it to the SAG Awards.

He called cards “no different than gold.” He cited “11 years of data.” He noted NFTs turned out to be a fad. The man has a thesis. It apparently involves sequined blazers and red carpets.
He didn’t buy the card alone. His co-buyer was Bolillo Lajan San, known in the hobby as Shyne150. Full name: Matthew Traun Allen.
Florida Department of Corrections records show Allen was convicted of trafficking cannabis and conspiracy to traffic drugs in Volusia County — sentenced in 2015, released in 2018.
This is also the guy who, in 2021, bought a sealed case of 1st Edition Pokémon cards for $2.7 million and flipped it to Logan Paul for $3.5 million eight months later. Paul opened it on camera. The boxes had GI Joe packs inside. The case was fake. SCR covered it.

After his release from prison, Allen assembled a $70 million card collection, displayed it publicly at Fanatics Fest, and co-founded a company called Secure Collectibles with O’Leary. Fanatics CEO Michael Rubin has publicly called him “my brother.”
SCR ranked O’Leary at No. 15 this month. His Instagram has 2.2 million followers. His average post gets 1,057 likes. That’s a 0.05% engagement rate, per SocialBlade.
Most of those 2.2 million people follow him for Shark Tank. Not this.
The hobby has a way of finding people.
