2009/10 Panini Elite Basketball Set Review

Release Date: 11/25/2009

20 Packs Per Box
5 Cards Per Pack
Pack SRP: $6.00

4 Auto/Jersey Cards Per Box

The card design of the 2009/10 Panini Elite Basketball is very much the same as the Elite Football product. While that is somewhat a bummer, this is one of the lower tier sets of the year. I expect Panini to come through with some big time sets as the NBA season rolls along.

The product does have some nice touches. The Passing the Torch Autograph cards are very unique. Serial numbered to 25 or less, the set pairs up a former player and a current one. Check out some of the names included in the set:

Kobe Bryant & Magic Johnson
Larry Bird & Ray Allen
Del Curry & Stephen Curry

The 40 sticker Autographed Rookies is a nice surprise. The fact that Panini has secured all of these cards is a major plus for the set. Even though #1 Pick Blake Griffin suffered an injury early in the year, other rookies have stepped up in his absence. These cards are serial numbered to 499 or less.
