Logan Ward Calls CardsHQ a Bust

What Ward Said
Ward posted a photo of himself outside CardsHQ’s storefront at 3101 Cobb Parkway SE in Smyrna, Georgia, with the caption: “Unfortunately this place was a bust!” The post collected 30 replies, 9 reposts, and 198 likes before Ward explained his criticism in the comment thread.
When a commenter asked why the visit fell short, Ward wrote: “Very little vintage anything, terrible modern wax selection, minuscule racing inventory including wax and singles, tough to get in and out due to TCG inventory up front filled with flippers.”
Ward also agreed with a separate commenter who raised concerns about the shopping experience. “Was it the total lack of negotiation aspect or how everything is behind a case that requires you to track down a kid with a key?” wrote @DRULZ29. Ward replied: “Totally! No touchy anything till you hand them over.”

About CardsHQ
CardsHQ opened in February 2024, billing itself as the world’s largest card shop. The store is co-owned by Geoff Wilson, founder of Sports Card Investor and currently ranked #1 on SCR’s Hobby Influencer Rankings, along with co-owners Ryan Van Oost and Carter Musgrave. The Sports Card Investor studio operates out of the CardsHQ location.
Sports Card Radio has covered CardsHQ previously, including a 2025 report on the arrest of a former employee charged with stealing more than $20,000 worth of trading cards from the shop. SCR has also covered CardsHQ’s trade night events since the store opened.
Ward’s remarks about the store’s layout align with a broader conversation in the hobby about the balance between traditional sports cards and TCG (trading card game) products such as Pokémon. Several collectors in Ward’s reply thread echoed his concern that CardsHQ’s floor plan and inventory prioritize that segment of the market over sports cards.
Response
CardsHQ did not respond to a request for comment at the time of publication. Geoff Wilson had not issued a public statement regarding Ward’s post as of April 6, 2026.
