Topps Social Account Deletes Post Featuring Fake Wembanyama Superfractor

The official Topps social media account posted — and then quickly deleted — an image of a purported Victor Wembanyama Superfractor that came from an active eBay listing run by a seller based in China.

The card in the post was not authentic. The listing it was pulled from had been flagged in collector circles before Topps shared the image.

Topps removed the post within a short window after it went live. No correction or follow-up was published on the account.

The Topps social account is run by Ben Haines, who previously operated the Collectibles Guru account under the name Eric Whiteback.

Topps has not responded publicly to questions about how the image was sourced or vetted before posting.
