Josh Hamilton – 2008 Allen & Ginter

Josh Hamilton Allen & Ginter TTM

Address Used: c/o Mike Dixon, Genesis Marketing Partners 1145-D Executive Circle Cary, NC 27511

The Allen & Ginter cards are some of the best modern cards to get autographed TTM. Opening up this Josh Hamilton must have been a sweet experience. Hamilton probably gets a lot of mail, but it is worth sending him something.

Jim McMahon – 2008 Allen & Ginter

Jim McMahon 2008 Allen & Ginter TTM

I really like it when players personalize the autograph. How cool is this card? It makes me want to get a couple stamps out and send McMahon a letter right now. McMahon was quite a character in his playing days, making as much news off the field as on. The beer in his hand at his draft press conference is classic. McMahon did things his own way, and won. I have a lot of respect for a player like that.

Max Scherzer – 2008 Allen & Ginter

Max Scherzer Topps Allen & Ginter TTM

Max Scherzer was traded in December 2009 to the Detroit Tigers.  Scherzer went 9-11 with a 4.12 ERA in 30 starts last season with Arizona. This kid has a live arm and hopefully he can get the hang of the American League.

Curtis Granderson – 2008 Allen & Ginter

Curtis Granderson 2008 Topps Allen & Ginter TTM

Granderson got an early Christmas present when he was traded to the New York Yankees on December 9, 2009 in a three team blockbuster (which Max Scherzer was also in). Hopefully the New York night life doesn’t keep Curtis from getting to his fan mail.

Mike Cameron – 2008 Allen & Ginter

Mike Cameron Topps Allen & Ginter TTM

In December 2009 Cameron signed a 2 year contract to play for the Boston Red Sox. What a good looking autograph he has. The Allen & Ginter cards really make the auto stand out. Cameron might be getting up there in age, but he can still play ball. He should help the Red Sox battle with the Yankees in 2010.

Andrew “William Ocean” Litz – 2008 Allen & Ginter

Andrew William Ocean Litz Topps Allen & Ginter TTM

Address Used: 315 W 39th St Rm 607 New York, NY 10018.

This is what makes Allen & Ginter so interesting. I had no idea who Andrew Litz was. A simple google search reveals that Mr. Litz is the 2009 US Air Guitar Champion. I will have to check out some youtube videos of William Ocean in action. Perhaps 2010 Topps Allen & Ginter could include some Guitar Hero legends in this years set.

Pete Weber – 2008 Allen & Ginter

Pete Weber 2008 Topps Allen & Ginter TTM

Address Used: 1305 Arlington Dr Florissant, MO 63033

This is a real gem. Weber was one of the greatest bowlers of all time. But he didn’t make many friends at the ally. He battled alcoholism, and many players gave him the cold shoulder. Pete is the son of Dick Weber. Dick Weber is ranked 3rd all-time on the PBA’s list of the 50 Greatest Players of the Last 50 Years, Pete is ranked 4th.

Kevin Van Dam – 2008 Allen & Ginter

Kevin Van Dam 2008 Topps Allen & Ginter TTM

Address Used: c/o D&R Sports Center, Inc. 8178 W Main St. Kalamazoo, MI 49009

Kevin Van Dam has been a professional fisherman since 1990. He has won the BASS Angler of the Year Award four times.  Kevin is a two time ESPN Bassmaster Classic winner.  He also won ESPN’s Outdoor Sportsman of the Year Award in 2002.

Frank Morris – 2008 Allen & Ginter

Frank Morris 2008 Topps Allen & Ginter TTM

Address Used: 5274 N Candlestick Ave Boise, ID 83713

Frank Morris is the 2005 World Champion Rubik’s Cube Solver.  You know what I found kind of ironic when I looked up who Frank Morris was? Another man, also by the name of Frank Morris, escaped from Alcatraz in 1962 and was never seen again. Something about escaping from Alcatraz and solving a Rubik’s cube go hand in hand.

Pat Neshek – 2008 Allen & Ginter

Pat Neshek 2008 Topps Allen & Ginter TTM

Address Used: PO Box 43127. Brooklyn Park, MN 55443

Pat is a relief pitcher for the Minnesota Twins. In 121 career games Neshek has a 2.91 ERA. His unique delivery makes it hard to pick the ball up coming out of his hand. Pat also sports one heck of an autograph. The 2008 Ginter card is probably the perfect card to score a Neshek autograph on.

Joe Nathan – 2008 Allen & Ginter

Joe Nathan Topps Allen & Ginter TTM

As a San Francisco Giants fan, it pains me to think about the trade that sent Joe Nathan, Francisco Liriano and Boof Bonser to the Chicago White Sox for catcher A.J. Pierzynski.  What an epic failure of a trade that was. Joe started as a short stop with the Giants organization. He converted to pitching and has turned himself into one of the best closers in the game.
