Panini went all out in the design and execution of the HRX Video Trading Cards found inside 2010-11 Totally Certified Basketball and fans of Kobe Bryant are paying huge money to get this stunning card. The Bryant version comes complete with a lengthy video that contains highlights of Kobe’s illustrious career and a sit down interview with the Laker star himself. Toward the end of the video they actually show Kobe signing the card and serial numbering each of them himself. Many other Kobe autograph cards found inside Panini products are also displayed. Ever the business man – Kobe checks an incoming phone call during the video that could have ended up on the blooper reel.
10-11 Totally Certified Basketball released on July 6, 2011 – and so far – this is the only product to contain the HRX Video Trading Cards. The other players who also have an HRX Card are John Wall, Kevin Durant and Blake Griffin. Kobe’s version is certainly the most sought after and on August 21, 2011 one sold for $1,425 on eBay. On Aug. 26 a Blake Griffin version sold for $420.00. Inside packs of 10-11 Certified Basketball are randomly inserted HRX redemption cards that have to be sent in. The turnaround time was quick as collectors who redeemed in July already had their card by August.
