National Hockey Card Day Adds PWHL Cards for First Time in Event’s 17-Year History
Upper Deck’s National Hockey Card Day returns Saturday, April 11, with a first for the 17-year-old event: PWHL cards will be included alongside the traditional NHL set. Free packs are available at participating Certified Diamond Dealer locations across the United States and Canada.
The new PWHL Powerhouses insert set features players from the Professional Women’s Hockey League, including Taylor Heise, Marie-Philip Poulin, and Sarah Fillier. It marks the first time women’s professional hockey has been represented in National Hockey Card Day packs since the event launched in 2009.

Each free pack contains five cards from a 31-card base set divided into three segments: Prominent Rookies, Hockey Superstars, and Legends on Ice. The rookie class includes Ivan Demidov, Matthew Schaefer, Michael Misa, Ryan Leonard, Beckett Sennecke, Zeev Buium, Jimmy Snuggerud, Artyom Levshunov, Easton Cowan, and Berkly Catton.
Veteran stars Connor McDavid, Alex Ovechkin, and Sidney Crosby anchor the Superstars segment. Wayne Gretzky and Mario Lemieux headline Legends on Ice.
Additional inserts include UD Victory Black Rookies, Mascot Mannerisms, and rare NHCD Autograph cards. Collectors who spend $10 or more on Upper Deck product at participating shops will receive an Ivan Demidov Rookie Moments bonus card while supplies last.

Packs are available at Upper Deck Certified Diamond Dealer hobby shops. Canadian collectors can also pick up a free nine-card sheet at select retail locations including Pro Hockey Life, Sports Rousseau, and the Hockey Hall of Fame. Upper Deck’s store locator at upperdeck.com/nhcd lists participating shops by region.
