Anderson was drafted by the New Jersey Nets – and his rookie cards feature him in a Nets uniform.

It was popular for companies at the time to put the upcoming NBA draft picks in late season products. That gives Ryan Anderson “XRC’s” – from Topps Finest and Upper Deck Chronology. These were originally redemption cards found in the 2007/08 products.

Ryan Anderson is a dangerous outside scoring forward/center that usually produces at a high level when given playing time. I began noticing Anderson’s game in January 2011 when he was coming off the bench for the Orlando Magic. His 3pt shooting, mixed with some rebounds made him a perfect Fantasy Basketball player to start when you’re lineup was thin. At the start of the lockout shortened 2011-12 NBA season Dwight Howard was drawing double teams (and guarding the opposing teams center) – Anderson was now a starter and his career started to take off. He is now considered one of the best 3-point shooters in the NBA.

Ryan Anderson’s best rookie card would probably be is 08/09 UD Exquisite, which is autographed & only has 225 copies. The Upper Deck Black, with only 99 copies is highly desirable as well. For some sets I list both the base and autograph RC (Topps Chrome for example). However, keep in mind that there are lots of parallel cards from these sets – but this should get you started collecting Ryan Anderson’s rookies. Also, when I say “jersey” above, it is a piece of jersey worn by Ryan Anderson, but more than likely it was not worn in an NBA game.

During the summer of 2012 the Orlando Magic traded Ryan Anderson to the New Orleans Hornets for Gustavo Ayon.
