A Georgia man was sentenced to three years in federal prison after admitting he lied to obtain a PPP loan, then used a large portion of the money to buy a Charizard trading card.

Vinath Oudomsine, 31, of Dublin, Ga., obtained $85,000 in Covid-19 relief money. Oudomsine later used $57,789 of the funds to purchase a BGS 9.5 Charizard.

In addition to the jail time, a federal judge fined Oudomsine $10,000, and ordered him to pay restitution of $85,000.

PWCC sold a 1990 Topps Tiffany Frank Thomas RC graded PSA 9 that was actually a regular version.

It's a mistake worth over $200. You can usually find regular versions for around $15 on eBay.

We'll see if PWCC or PSA take notice. Tiffany cards have a bright yellow/green back and do not have the star next to the copyright in the bottom left corner.

This Kobe Bryant card on eBay likely has a fake autograph and a fake patch.

Beckett graded the card on March 13, 2018 according to their website.

Did you know your hobby hero Geoff Wilson was also a model for a company he helped run with his wife? His photos are still up on Amazon.

Although it looks like the business was shut down after a Trademark complaint from TUBANA LLC.

A seller out of China appears to be selling the inventory currently listed on Amazon, not Wilson.

Wilson, the owner of Sports Card Investor, has threatened lawsuits against many in the hobby, including for copyright infringement.

A group breaker that goes by The Rippers 401 bragged about opening 2022 Panini Mosaic Football two days before release day.

The breaker was also charging $100 per division, which some felt was overpriced. There are 8 divisions in the NFL, netting the breaker around $800 before fees, overhead and taxes.

Boxes sold for around $389 on eBay on release day.

Sources say GTS Distribution is looking into the matter.

  • People were ripping Mosaic Hobby even before these guys on WhatNot. 3-4 days early to be exact. Crazy that this one breaker gets reported to sports card radio. Obviously some “dick” has a gripe with them or is just envious they couldn’t fill their 4 blaster 4 cello retail break. Herbs and Dicks always causing trouble. No story here, let’s move on….Rippers401 4 Life 🚀🚀

  • People are still charging $75-100 per division for mosaic hobby on Whatnot. I witnessed it not even 12 hours ago. These egregious prices won’t go away until people stop paying them, but I haven’t seen any signs of it slowing down, so we are all screwed.

    • Exactly but they want to bash this one Facebook breaker. At the of the day $400 markup but not including fees to break, shipping, taxes, overhead. Guy makes $250-300 max. How is that overpriced?
