ALERT: Fake – Trimmed – Altered – Graded Cards by PSA or BGS

Fitting that the very first card PSA ever graded was trimmed and they didn’t catch it.

Here are just some of the fake, trimmed or altered cards that exist in real PSA or BGS holders.

Except for the Vegas Dave card that PSA claims is a fake holder, all of these mistakes could have been caught during the grading process.

Most scammers, trimmers and cheats submit cards to eBay consignors PWCC Marketplace or Probstein123 to sell.

Heroes of Sport had a unique method of selling some of his trimmed cards. Put them into a re-pack product and get idiot group breakers to sell to unknowing collectors.

Assume any valuable card you are looking to buy is fake and prove to yourself it’s real before deciding to purchase.

Apparently it’s fine to mess with your vintage cards and slab them?

Removal of dirt, glue, pencil marks, wax are all ok. Sometimes chemical substances are added to the cards to remove imperfections and improve appearance.

You’d think on a super expensive card they’d at least take a ruler to it.

Peyton Manning didn’t sign these cards like this. You can see examples here.

For me the proof was how far the ‘M’ in Manning trails down. On all his other cards you can’t find any even close to these.

Most likely what happened was the autograph faded, which is common, and someone reapplied or tried to trace over the original one.

2009 Leaf Oval OfficeMartin Van Buren Autograph (Fake)

Leaf Trading Cards, at the time known as Razor, put a fake autograph of Martin Van Buren, authenticated by BGS in their Oval Office product.

An autopen Richard Nixon card also made it into the product but was not slabbed.

PSA says these Judy Johnson cards were signed by him. Problem is, Johnson died before the set was released.

PSA “Expert” Blows it on Pawn Stars(2011) – Las Vegas Sun

PSA authenticator John Reznikoff claims the autograph on a screenplay for “The Godfather” is of actor Al Pacino. Turns out it was really Al Ruddy, the producer of the 1972 movie. All of this was captured on the TV show Pawn Stars.
